Lets Run Away to Coron 2nd Day

Dear Future Me,

Carpe Diem!! Carpe Diem!!, woke up early, packing things up, getting ready for our island hopping endeavor. Our group had hire a private boat tour (Kuya Red) to bring us to 4 destinations. This is a little pricey, but since we're 9 in group, that doesn't cause us too much, also Kuya Red already bought our lunch for the day (crabs, fish, chicken adobo, some seaweeds, etc) they even cooked it on the boat.

After almost or more than an hour of boat ride, we're now in the 1st destination, the Lusong Island Gunboat Wreck. Excitingly gearing up the lifevest and snorkel mask, we've jump the boat jubilantly. The morning is fine and the sun is shining, perfect for viewing what's under. Corals, majestically shining, fishes twerking, and.... wait for it!!!..

Bang!! the unbelievably gunboat wreck from  the 40's (war era)(my 1st time seeing one so, the hype is on me). Coron is more popular being the wreck capital of the Philippines, I wonder what terror did these things done way back then, now, its a tourist destination (if your brave enough).  The sunken gunboat has corals all over it, and there's a part where you can actually stand still(its not that deep).

the part where you can actually stand

Unfortunately, things happen, as my action camera's waterproof case leaked. In my hurry getting back to the boat, another misfortune happen, got a long somewhat deep cut on my feet. I haven't notice it until i went aboard the boat, then my friend told me that there was blood, an awful amount on the boat floor. The boatman said that the gunboat wreck has still rusty sharp edges, thankfully, they've got some first aid kit on board. Kuya Red and kuya Boatman assist me cleaning my cut, I have to clean first the rust  around the cut with saltwater, then they put Hydrogen Peroxide, Betadine and some bandages around it.

Even with those misfortunes, it doesn't stop my ego and euphoric vibe to carry on and seize the day.

Just a few minutes, we headed to the Lusong Island Coral Garden. Again, enthusiastically gearing up the snorkeling set, having a smile from my face forgetting what just happen I jump from the boat. It was surreal for me, looking these corals, corals everywhere, different color, vibrantly shining under the fine weather, small fishes homing, was like a moment stopper. Every where you look, very instagrammable, no need for filter, the color blending is insane. I don't have photo since my action camera got broke, but I can still see it vividly in my head, really unforgettable moment.

Our 3rd destination is the Pass Island where we had to eat our lunch and had a few beach bumming plus unlimited photos :) . On our way, a Rain Storm is approaching in distance, then a minute, it was above us. It got this hard drops, not as hard as a hail (from our experience in Fortune Island), but still were all like in the fetal position suiting our lifevest. I didn't feel fear that time, because the wave is stable, the boat manage to rode it solemnly, thankfully my friends also, I can tell, being mindful. Everyone even the boat is being stronger than the storm, It's always the best feeling after the storm.

A beauty one, having the white sands, palm trees, bermuda grass and of course the crystal clear water. Everywhere is instagrammable, plus not being a crowded island. We enjoy sun bathing and playing volleyball (we forgot the Frisbee). After a while, the headed to a hut to eat our lunch. Really scrumptious seafoods, mouth watery aaahhhmmmm uhhhhh. The boatmans was really a good cook, it was heaven.

Had to rest for a while before we headed to the last Destination of that day, another "Gunboat Wreck", but this time, its much deeper. We jump again, with the excitement, to find out, it was the creepiest sight I've ever saw under water. It was like having a night vision, all you can see  was a blurry green, then there was the gunboat. What I saw was  a long metal, then pretty dark below, seriously a long metal, looks like a horror movie. We didn't stay there for so long, we can't even find some corals, the the boatman tells us a story that some others "fucking saw a huge snake(anaconda)" roaming that island beside the shipwreck. To our horrors, we leave immediately, hahaha what a conversation occur that time, then we take a long way back to the Town Proper.

Kudo's to this Kuya's, being a greak cook, having the first aid kit, skills of roaming the storm, and lastly the stories and our conversations was an epic day to have and to feel.

Our day doesn't end with that all, we've got to make it memorable. Kuya Red suggest a KTV somewhere in Town, in the Gateway Hotel something bar. It has a live lounge set up, where you can sing with the singer or your own. I wouldn't let that day end without me singing there live hahaha. I've really got a epic time there, had to sing couple of songs and get drunk as fuck. Seriously, we're all wasted when were headed back to the guest house.

Dizziness and Puking is real the next morning, which i curse myself from drinking alcohol again, hahaha that bitch hangover!.

Lets Run Away to Coron 1st Day

Dear Future Me,

I'm having bittersweet feeling today as I'm writing this, missing everything we've done during our brief vacation in Coron, Palawan.

We arrived there late noon, got to fix our selves at Coron Backpackers Guesthouse. CBG is highly recommended, they've got there room rates at 500 for 2 people, 750 for 4 (it's only a fan room, we don't really need an airconditioned room since It's not summer). Got to prepared our selves for having the town tour ( trekking Mt. Tapyas and having a hot bath at Maquinit HotSpring ). Trekking Mt. Tapyas may be a little challenge (for some) a real sweat jerker. The summit is rewarding with scenic view of Coron islands and hills. The clouds in greyish blue color blending fiery sunset. I'll never forget looking at that priceless moment.

After our trek, we've gone directly to Maquinit hotsprings (another attraction in Coron Town Proper). It was really hot, scorching hot, perfect bathing after a muscles and fat burning trek. Refreshing way to end our 1st day trip.
